Event Details

Few presidents have walked a more improbable path to the White House. Now, as America marks 250 years since the Declaration of Independence, President Barack Obama joins us in Glasgow to discuss what comes next - for America, and for all of us.

Winning more votes than any candidate in history, President Obama took office at a moment of crisis unlike any America had seen in decades. A nation at war, a planet in peril, and the American Dream itself threatened by the worst economic calamity since the Great Depression.

His leadership helped rescue the American economy, revitalised the American auto industry, grow the middle class, pass the Affordable Care Act, wind down two wars, and refocus American diplomatic leadership around the world - all while overseeing the longest stretch of job creation in American history.

In his post-presidency, President Obama has dedicated his efforts to supporting the next generation of leaders. The Obama Foundation is bringing that vision to life through programs for emerging leaders across continents, and the Foundation's mission to inspire, empower, and connect people to change their world. That legacy will carry on through the Obama Presidential Center, which opened this summer on Chicago's South Side.

Don't miss this rare chance to hear President Obama's message in person - a call to hope, resilience, and the belief that ordinary people, together, can still shape what comes next.
